SZSTUFF is an independent, personally run collection of links, plus a reminder tool, for people living in or moving to Shenzhen. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Chinese government, the Shenzhen municipal government, any immigration or public security authority, or any of the organisations, companies and services listed on it.
Nothing here is legal, immigration, medical, financial or tax advice. If a decision matters, get the answer from the authority responsible for it, or from a professional you have hired.
About the links
The links are checked by hand and go out of date anyway. Rules change, offices move, sites get redesigned and companies close. We do not control any site we link to and are not responsible for its content, its accuracy, its privacy practices, or anything that happens to you there. A link is not a recommendation, and it is not a guarantee of quality.
About the visa nudge — please read this one
The visa nudge is a convenience. It is not a compliance tool, and it must not be the only thing standing between you and an overstay.
- It can fail, and sometimes will. Email is not a reliable delivery mechanism. A reminder can be delayed, filtered into spam, rejected by your provider or lost outright. The service itself may be down, misconfigured, out of sending quota or discontinued without notice. A reminder that fails on the day it was due is not retried.
- It only knows what you typed. The dates come from you. A mistyped entry date, or the wrong number of days, produces a confident and wrong answer. We do not see your passport, visa or entry stamp, and we cannot check them.
- The counting rule is our reading of it. We treat the last permitted day as your entry date plus the days your stay permits, because China counts the duration of each stay from the day after entry. Your stamp, your visa category or a later extension may say something different. The stamp in your passport is what a border officer goes by, and it wins.
- It does not notice changes. If you extend your stay, switch visa, leave and re-enter, or your permitted stay is altered for any reason, the reminder keeps counting to the original date until you cancel it and set a new one.
- No guarantee of any kind. We do not promise that the service will be available, accurate or timely, or that any particular email will ever arrive.
You are solely responsible for knowing when you must leave China and for complying with the terms of your visa. Overstaying can mean fines, detention, deportation and a ban on re-entry. Treat this tool as a second pair of eyes, never as the first.
Your data
If you set a reminder we store the email address you gave us, the entry date and permitted stay you entered, the date those produce, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address used only to rate-limit signups. We do not sell it, share it or use it for marketing. It exists to send your reminders and nothing else.
Every email we send carries a link that deletes your reminder. Unconfirmed signups are deleted automatically after 7 days, and finished stays after 30. The site runs on Cloudflare and mail is sent through Cloudflare Email Sending, so requests and messages pass through their infrastructure and are handled under their terms.

This site and the visa nudge are provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy or of fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of szstuff.com accepts no liability for any loss, damage, cost, fine, penalty or immigration consequence arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or its reminders — including where a reminder is wrong, late, or never arrives at all.
